charlize is the beautiful daughter of the amazing pastors mark and summer. today i cruised on over to their place for a little photo sesh and some yummy panera. i cannot get over how incredibly cute she is! it all makes me realize how quickly time flies and how quickly jasper became the chunk that he is today ;) here's a few of my favs... |

day two found us in the danish village of solvang for a yummy breakfast at paula's pancake house...mmmm i can still taste my waffle :) after that we headed over to a blueberry patch to pick our own blueberries...only to find out the crazy heat wave that hit california over the past week basically shriveled all of the blueberries up :( either way, the blog voters had voted so we headed out for some fun! it's really amazing...when you've got ten guys with cameras, just about anything can be fun!

after about a half our of picked we had a whopping total of maybe a fifth of a bucket! |
after berrypicking we needed to recharge our man batteries so we headed over to pismo beach to rent some ATV's and speed around the dunes. SO. MUCH. FUN. i think this truck just about sums up pismo beach for me :) |

the man trip V2.0 is underway!!!
first up, a little equation fo ya to chew on:
10 photographers + 1 prevost rock star tour bus + one blog to house all the images + blog readers (ya that means you!) voting to CHOOSE OUR ADVENTURE = AWESOMENESS OVERLOAD!!!!
soooooo yesterday afternoon we headed out of the OC and on up the coast towards santa barbara for our first night of sleeping in our bus in a parking lot :) on the way up we stopped off at the ventura coast to admire the sunset and stretch our photo muscles! be sure to check out the mammoth men blog to see everyone else's rad pictures! |

as grace spends more time in the sun enjoying the summer, her freckles are becoming more prominent. today she looked especially cute all ready to hit the pool. i cannot believe she is going to be 5 in august! oh where does the time go?!?!? |

last week we i had the privilege of having a total awesome overdose...all in one day! first of all, i had an AAAMAZING private shootshop with my new friend horatio who flew all the way over from florida for a full day getting learned with me! if that wasn't enough awesome, i had the beautiful molly and matt jump on our free shootshop model offer and come on down for a quick afternoon shoot. did i say it was awesome yet?

so if you've been a reader of our blog for a while or have ever checked out gear list/FAQ you know by now that we have an unhealthy obsession with the boutwell's totally rad actions. they seriously are the backbone of our post processing for all of our images!
well, chiggy check this out, the fine folks over at boutwell just dropped their newest release, the totally rad actions V2 . THE REVENGE!!! we got a sneak peek at these bad boys a few weeks ago and have been playing with them a bunch and i've got to say, the first set of actions were amazing (and a definite must have) but THE REVENGE is ROCKING MY SOCKS OFF!!! doug truly outdid himself with this set...THE REVENGE coupled with the original set is in my opinion the finest, most creative, most customizable set of actions available to us photographers to date! i am so excited to continue to explore this new set and bring our post processing to a whole new level of radness :)

yesterday i got to shoot a fun portrait session of our two amazing friends reena and yvette...seriously two of the coolest people on the planet! reena and yvette are admittedly BFF (for those of you that aren't hip to the cool lingo, that's "best friends forever") and wanted a cool portrait to celebrate their radness. yvette gave me very specific instructions that they weren't supposed to look like a couple or be all lovey...well since lovey is my specialty, i had to think out of my box a bit which was a fun challenge! to make the challenge was even harder, we drove an hour our to julian and got in a major food coma before the shoot with some delish apple pie a la mode :) here's a couple of my favs from our afternoon adventure! |
