june 3rd, 2007 . nestledown . palo alto, california still catching up! remember our fun trip up to san francisco a few weeks ago? well the main reason for our trip up to the bay area was to shoot gina and reagan's awesome wedding at nesltedown. after their super cool engagement session we were totally looking forward to their wedding day...and boy oh boy they didn't disappoint! nestledown was a beautiful location smack dab in the middle of a beautiful forest and was the perfect backdrop for their wedding day. check out gina testing out her makeup with her veil on :)

last night we made it home from a long day of shooting to find a mysterious package on our front door...upon ripping into it we were pleasantly surprised to find an awesome gift from alysia and john! you may recal their super fun engagement session last month...well they loved thir pictures so much they were kind enough to send us a great note, two dozen homemade cookies, and a "game over" t-shirt that we were laughing about at their session! thanks guys!!! it may sound shallow, but we LOVE getting thank you notes, emails, phone calls, little gifts in the mail, etc. from our awesome clients! we put so much of ourselves into creating awesome images for our clients so it is always nice to receive a thank you in return! so there you have it...the insiders tip on how to score major points with your photographer ;)

last week i had the privilege of heading up to manhattan beach to shoot an engagement session for lisa and sean. sean was not too terribly excited to have pictures taken but we headed out and had some good laughs anyway :) between lisa and i egging him on i think we got some really great shots! here's a few favs...

check out your local newstands for the new "real weddings" issue of people magazine....flip to page thirty four...and POW, there you will find our image of kiko and susan's proposal! ...and yes...i did feel like a total moron buying twenty copies of this girly magazine at the store :)

if you look hard enough you can even spot jaclyn in the background in the window...my wife is in people magazine :)

the day after the horseman wedding we did a different type of day after session...with the happy couple and their two adorable children. we found this awesome location to shoot...it was seriously like our heaven :) just down the street from the westin was a whole square block of abandoned parking garage!!! oh ya...old, decrepid, abandoned, dirty, bring it on :) we shot a bunch of pictures of bonnie and ricky together, the kiddos, and them as a happy family...it was quite an afternoon! here are a few of our favorites...

may 27th, 2007 . villa amor en sayulita mexico still catching up!!! after the horseman wedding in puerto vallarta on that thursday we headed up to sayulita for deann and ian's awesome wedding. sayulita is about 45 minutes north of puerto vallarta and is a stark contrast to the very commercialized area to the south...it's totally low key with cobblestone streets, easy surf, small restaurants and lots of hippies :) villa amor was an absolutely gorgeous location overlooking the quiet bay of sayulita...it basically took up the entire south side of the bay with different cottages and villas dotting the hillside cliffs. oh, and when i say cliffs, i mean it! that place was a dog to climb around! it was hotter than hell there, add in some humidity, REALLY steep hills, no elevators, and us carrying camera gear and you get two very sweaty photographers :) all of the work was totally worth it though becasue deann and ian were such an amazing couple! they were both so laid back and easy going all day! check out the view from their villa!!!

they had a gorgeous ceremony filled with many laughs and tears...

you didn't think we would forget the rings did you??? this was thier cake topper we briefly stole and put in the fireplace for this awesome ring shot :)

yesterday afternoon on a total whim we decided to do a major overhaul on our two wedding galleries on our website! maybe we were just restless, or maybe it's because our spread in people magazine is supposed to come out this week....either way, we were restless :) we've had lots of work from our 2005 season populating our site for a long time now so we figured it was time to show off some new fresh and fun work. if you have a few minutes, stop by and check it out! may 24th, 2007 . villa celeste, puerto vallarta mexico catching up...catching up...catching up...remember a few weeks ago when we were puerto vallarta? ya, like way back then...we were there for two really awesome weddings...here's the first one! bonnie and ricky eloped seven years ago. now, seven years and two beautiful daughters later they were ready to celebrate their wedding in style with their closest family and friends in mexico! they rented out an awesome villa in puerto vallarta and everyone stayed with them there on the beach for a week leading up to the wedding...how's that for relaxing?!?!? to top off the cool factor, bonnie is actually a photographer back in their home town in virginia...we love shooting photographers...they keep us on our toes :) these kids were so cute and had lots of fun with me trying to get a picture of them :)

...which was broken up by a seagull with a laser targeting sphincter that dropped a nice load of poo on the dinner table :) after that there was a little boy in the above the villa that was dancing around naked for all the guests to enjoy....only in mexico!
