may 19th, 2007 . the hilton harbor island we've been counting down the days until jeremy and catherine's wedding ever since their awesome engagement session a couple months ago! well of course, they didn't didn't let anyone down...their wedding day was a blast from start to finish. their wedding took place at the hilton on harbor island under very overcast skies but that didn't damper their spirits a bit! here's a few of our favorites... catherine and her sister sharing a nice moment before the day's festivities got underway...

the last session of the wild and crazy portrait extraveganza!!! emily and brett and i have a pretty funny story...they had planned on hiring us for their wedding but after buying a fixer-upper home in atlanta they just couldn't swing flying us out to the east coast :( well the day they emailed me the news was the same day we announced the atlanta one day . two ways workshop!!! so of course i let them know i'd be there and we were able to work out scheduling a couple's session for them, way cool! anyway, emily and brett being recently married and rediculously good looking made the shoot a totalt breeze! i am really excited about the images, here's a few...

i asked emily if she had any special requests for me and she asked for "one of the really close cropped face like ones"...so here ya go!

the third family of the big fat portrait party was the awesome robertson family! alisha was another participant for the one day . two ways workshop so it was great to have another photographer to talk shop with while we wandered around piedmont park :) the robertson family was a total blast to be around and kept me lauging for the whole session! here's a few favs... remember a few posts ago i said remember the robot....guess who found the robot again!!!

my second portrait session of my big fat portrait party was the fitzgerald family. chris and brian have a beautiful three month old daughter, violet who unfortunately was sick for the session :( surprisingly she did great for being so sick...we even got a few smiles out of her! here are a few of my favorites...

last week while i was in hotlanta i scheduled an insane day of shooting portraits on tuesday. i shot four portrait sessions from 9am to 8pm...all outside! it was a really fun challenge to get thrown into a totally new environment with lots of "bad" characteristics...bright midday sun almost all day, patchy shade with lots of trees, lots of other poeple around, etc. i had a ton of fun meeting everyone who came out to have their portraits taken, they were all fantastic and made the long day fly by! my first shoot of the day was the awesome hunsinger family! amy was actually a participant in our workshop so it was great to meet her first. amy, marty, and their two sons jack and garrett were such a blast...a perfect start to the day! their love as a family just oozes out which made my job really easy :) here are a few of my favorites...

wow, what a week!!! i am finally home from atlanta and still in shock from how great last week was! susan and i were both completely blown away and humbled by the eighteen amazing photographers who joined us for our first one day . two ways workshop! we had an absolutely amazing time with everyone...we hope you had as much fun as we did :) here's a few random images from the day... we started out the morning with some yummy breakfast and some talking about our businesses, gear, philosopies, and techniques while hanging out in the stunning loft on loan to us by the fantastic almasys. i was a complete nervous wreck prior to the workshop because i have a terrible phobia of public speaking...but apparently i didn't totally suck...yahoo! you can check out a few more shots on susan's blog too! to all attendees...please email me any pictures you have of susan and i shooting, teaching, or just generally being silly...we especially need shots of the infamous "coke incident" :)

after some chit chat we all headed out into the neighborhood for some shooting demonstrations! for those of you that aren't familiar with the idea of our workshop, we had all of the attendees stand in as models for us. we believe that it is very important to demonstrate techniques and ideas on REAL people because they are exactly like who we will all be presented with in the real world. it also gave everyone the opportunity to experience some time in front of the camera to help be a bit more relatable to clients when they are anxious in front of our cameras. first up, the fabulous jessie!

tying the knot september 1st, 2007. i was so excited to finally meet shana and luke! they are both from the bay area so we had done all of our communicating via phone and email...it was great to finally have them down to the studio for their engagement session! we had a blast wandering around oceanside chit chatting and having lots of fun. they are both so sweet together and photographed like a couple of pros! can't wait to see you guys in pebble beach in a few months!!! i was feeling very horizontal for this shoot :)

the ongoing joke through the whole shoot were the metromint water bottles we were lugging around...so i just had to incorporate them for at least one shot :)

angel and rob are fantastic!!! not only are they totally in love but they are just so fun to be around and were up for ANYTHING. we had been looking forward to their wedding since their awesome engagement session a few months ago. the wedding was at the la costa resort and spa and was coordinated flawlessly by the fabulous alesha and leilani from everafter events. it was a gray day in may but it didn't stop anyone from having a good time. ;) i started the day with angel while she was getting ready...
