last week we shot julie and simon's awesome wedding up in malibu (pics to follow...someday) and then we had them down for a day after session on monday for some more awesome photos in their wedding getup! it was a really fun shoot running around oceanside in the middle of the day with a wedding couple...we got plenty of WTF looks from all the people in oceanside who might have never seen a bride and groom :) we're bringing sexy back to oceanside! there are so many good ones from this session, but here's a few shots that caught my eye on the first pass :)

ok, so i have to preface this one! normally i wouldn't "redo" an epic shot like THE sash one but julie is a photographer herself who pleaded with me to make an exception to the rule...add that to her bringing a beautiful handmade (by her!) sash to the session and i just had to use it :) so i switched it up a bit and made an image i am really excited about! so thanks for asking julie!!! also, for all you photographers out there i should mention...this image was shot at literally 12:00 noon...on the beach...in full sun...white dress...black tux...bring it! sometime i even surprise myself :)

a few weeks ago i had the pleasure of shooting a maternity session for the beautiful natalie and her awesome husband matt around our studio in oceanside. natalie was three weeks from popping and she looked absolutely radiant! to top it all off, natalie is a fellow photographer (a really good one at that) who i first met at one of our shootshops so i had to be on my best photo behavior :) here are a few of my favs!

when we were out shooting, I bet natalie was definitely in the top three...good lookin girls on the street :)

at the end of our session, natalie hit me with the fact that she does yoga and she could do a handstand...the conversation went something like this: *natalie* so i do yoga... *me* cool...are you any good? *natlaie* well i can do handstands and stuff... *me* (my cool photo radar was going off) oh wow, uh, cool...that would be a fun picture! *natalie* i have my yoga gear and mat in the car... *me* holy crap, really?!?!? well lets do it!!! man you shoulda seen the looks we got on the street doing this one :) thanks for rocking so hard natalie!!!

today i'm leaving at the butt-crack o' the morning to drive up to las vegas for the annual wedding and portrait photographer's convention for a whirlwind one and a half days of photographer nerd-fest-o-rama! if you're a photographer and are in vegas and happen to see me wandering around looking slightly lonely (i will be minus my much better half) please grab me and say hello! also, you can see some of our work featured in some sample albums at the renaissance albums booth, some gallery canvas at the simply canvas booth, and a book or two at the sharedink booth! viva las vegas! *note to clients* i will be returning emails and phone calls on friday...thanks for your patience!

shot a rad engagement session yesterday for the awesome aaron and emily from minnesota. just starting to work through the images but i am really excited about this series so i just had to post them! more to come soon...

man oh man, the weather here in san diego has been SO awesome this week! it's been sunny and seventy every day so yesterday after a yummy dinner we went out for a walk around our hood. jac and i traded off pushing jasper while grace rode her bike...she's riding so well! for everyone asking for tech info about shots...i'm too lazy to post it for every image but fyi, these were all shot on a canon 5D with a canon 28mm F1.8 lens. all images were shot raw at F1.8 and ISO 100. enjoy!

every bike ride has to have one spill though :(
