i am still so tripping out that grace is old enough to make phone calls! anyway, i was out running baby errands today when i got this lovely little message from grace :) just click play...

wow. words just can't even do justice to the life-rocking event of bringing a new child into this world! well as many of you have read on our twitter we welcomed our beautiful new baby boy, jasper aiden kaiser EARLY sunday morning! we're finally home now and starting to settle into our new no sleeping schedule :) jaclyn is fantastic, jasper is fantastic...life is good! we can't thank you all enough for all of your prayers, encouraging comments, and kind emails! we'll be posting some more "official" portraits of jasper in the next few days but for now, here's some from our hospital adventure...

since i shot a wedding on saturday all day, i was POOPED when i got to the hospital! to top it off, jasper kept us up all night waiting! i had to snag grace's sleeping gear to grab a few zzzzzz....
at 4:40AM our doctor broke jaclyn's water and then came the pushing, pushing, pushing...at 5:16AM jasper popped out into the world with a good loud scream and tons of cheers from all of his family! shortly thereafter, we also found out he was 8 pounds 7 ounces!!! grace was only 6 pounds 9 ounces so we were shocked he was able to make it out!

right after jasper was born we woke grace up to meet her new baby brother...she had been up until 2:30 so she was kinda dazed at first :)

the man, the myth, the legend...the jasper :) he has a little bit of a butt chin too...we can't quite tell yet if it's just from being all crunched up in the belly or if it's a permanent feature :)
...well it would appear the wait is aaaaaaaaaalmost over! jaclyn went to the doctor's today for her weekly checkup. she is 3 centimeters dialated and 70% affaced which in layman's terms means she is just about to pop! since our doctor is heading out of town on monday and the replacement doctor has a nasty reputation, we are heading into the hospital on saturday night and they will induce jaclyn's labor. soooooooo kaiser baby V2.0 should jump out into the world on saturday night or very early on sunday!!! we are beyond excited and beyond nervous and stressed out all at once!!!
we can't thank you all enough for all of your prayers, kind comments, emails, and gifts...please continue to pray for our family and especially jaclyn and baby V2.0 for a speedy, safe, and joyous delivery.
once we're at the hospital, if there is internet access i'll try to update the blog as much as possible...if not, i'll be posting to my twitter account with a play by play :)
to top it all off and most likely make saturday officially the longest day of my life...i have a wedding to shoot!!! i finish up at six, then zoom home and over to the hospital to make it to our appointment by seven! thank God for our fantastic super hero photographer friends the lyons who will be coming with me to the wedding tomorrow just in case baby decides to make an early appearance :) i'm doing another photobooth at the wedding tomorrow so i had the whole setup out tonight to test a few things out...

when we had grace, we spent a good amount of time waiting...since laughter is the best medicine, we of course had bill cosby's tape on the tv...this part is particularly pertinent :) part one...
we've made it to the "red zone" of the pregnancy! well, actually i haven't done much of anything, but jaclyn has been a trooper and has just over four weeks left! jaclyn was three and a half weeks early with grace and that trend seems to run in the women of her family so from now on we're officially on babywatch 2008! the baby's nursery is almost finished, we've stockpiled all the necessary junk, grace is gitty to meet her new brother or sister, the baby is kicking like a rabid alien trying to burst out of the belly, and we're almost official on the names...just trying to work out a boys middle name :) please keep jaclyn in your prayers over the coming weeks as our family prepares to welcome this tiny huge blessing into our lives.
UPDATE no new news to report really, no baby yet! i've been sick the past couple days so i've been laying low trying to get better so i can actually be in the room if our baby decides to pop out soon :) jac and i have both collectively decided that it looks like she has "dropped" a little so maybe we're getting close!!! as of today, we're four day later than we were with grace...

today we had a few free minutes so jaclyn and i headed out to do a mini maternity session before she pops :) we drove over to an industrial park, stopped on the side of a road and shot all of these in about a 100 square foot area in a half an hour before it started pouring rain. i may be biased, but jaclyn is hands down the most prettyest pregnant woman i've ever seen...in fact, that probably has something to do with why she is prego in the first place...enjoy :)
...now that we have these out of the way, everyone chant with us..."BABY, GET OUTTA THERE, BABY GET OUTTA THERE!!!"
