one of the greatest things about the DWF convention is getting to hook up with old friends and make new ones. last night we planned to head down to dinner solo before the nights festivities got under way...a few phone calls later, bumped into a few people in the lobby and presto, dinner for 14 please! yours truly with my "way to hot for me" wife jaclyn. the uber talented duo, jesh de rox and anna kuperberg!

yesterday morning we embarked on the drive to vegas with jay reilly, andrew reilly, and amelia lyon. i had grand plans to stop at this abandoned waterpark off of the 15 in the middle of no where but when we arrived we were unfortunatley met with security patrol :( crap. here is one of the only shots i had the chance to take at the waterpark before we were kicked out :(

so we all headed down the road to another abandoned building this to take a few shots...

did any of you have the chance to watch this amazing mini-series on discovery HD last night?!!?! WOW. the planet earth mini-series is an 11 hour portrait of our planet earth filmed in all high definition over the course of the last five years. the imagery is simply breath taking! jaclyn, grace, and i watched three hours worth last night and our jaws were open for almost the whole time....except for grace who was busy asking questions, naming the animals, pointing, laughing, etc :) it is so hard to put into words just how moving and emotional it was to watch this...what an amazingly beautiful planet we live on!!! you can find out more info about the series on the website. if you missed the six hour premier last night you can purchase the dvd set. be sure to tune into the discovery channel next sunday night, april 1st for the second half of the series!

our favorite week of the year is finally here!!! tomorrow morning we will be heading out to las vegas for the DWF convention. we'll be in vegas all week and won't be back in the studio until monday april 2nd. genevieve will be holding down the fort all week and we will be checking our email and phone messages as well. we will be caravaning out to vegas with amelia lyon, jay reilly, and andrew reilly and hopefully stopping at some fun places along the way for some pics! the pics below are from last years trip out with jay reilly who was kind enough to shoot these cool pics of us and our other baby :) there is a really funny story about the scary situation we encountered making these images on our old blog. on a side note...if any of you fellow blog readers (or stalkers) happen to see us wandering around in vegas, stop us and say hi, we'd love to meet you :)

every thursday we take grace to her j.w. tumbles gym class in encinitas. it has to be one of the cutest things to watch! grace and 5-10 other 3-5 year olds running, playing, jumping, tumbling, swinging, rolling, etc. is quite a sight to see! what makes it even cuter is that grace is totally the superstar teacher's pet :) yesterday we finally brought a camera to class!

hmmm...can you guess which one is our lovely daughter???

somebody pinch us! we got a mesage on our phone today from people magazine asking us to submit a photo essay to be featured in their first ever "real weddings" issue that will be on newsstands in june. now nothing is set in stone yet, but they "like our chances" and "love our work!" so lets all keep our fingers crossed and see what happens... but whoa...people-fricking-magazine...how cool would that be?!?!

gettin hitched may 19th, 2007. catherine and jeremy are SO sweet together...i practically had to pull jeremy away from catherine for some of the shots! we headed out for a fun engagement session and drove to some new locations i scoped out around oceanside...it's always fun to shoot in new places. it was super overcast for the whole shoot which was a mixed blessing since we got perfectly even light everywhere we went...haven't had that in a while! maybe the may grey is coming early this year...

...and yes, i intentionally didn't focus on the faces in this one :)

yesterday we had the chance to hang out with our good friends the franklins at guajome park in oceanside. we've known matt and amy since high school, but now that we're all grown up it is so hard to make time to hang out :( luckily our schedules meshed and we were able to go to the park with all the kids for a little picnic, duck feeding, and playing around. the ducks at guajome lake are insane...they will attack for bread!
